Create an account
It might seem straightforward to many people, but creating a good Twitter account is important. Think about your username, what does it mean to the public when they read it? Also work on a good profile.
Go Twitter Search
Once you have signed up, then use the search function to find other people to start following (as many will follow you back). Search for niches that are similar to your own, and follow as many people as possible.
Search Results
After having used the search option, one should see pages and profiles that have the keywords used as the search criteria. If you were looking for a person and the person’s profile appears, then just click on the avatar of the person and you will go to their profile. You can see their profile information and also their latest tweets. The result of the search depends on the search being made. The finer the search, the better and clearer would be the results.
Follow
On the search page, follow is another option. By clicking on the follow option, one would be added to another person’s profile and would be continuously in touch with them as far as their tweets and other updates are concerned. But if you want to see updates of the person’s tweets on your profile, then it is imperative that they follow you as well.
How does the other person follow you?
This is perhaps the question that arises in people’s mind when they start following a person. The answer to this is pretty simple. Whenever you start following a person on twitter, they would get a mail stating that you have begun following them on twitter. And if they know you or are interested in your profile, then they would start following you as well. The chances of the person following you are pretty high but that is not compulsory and a person could also refrain from or choose not to follow you.
First stage completed
This is the first stage of your twitter activities. One can find people and topics live, and the search results would include also their latest tweets and profile updates.
Second Stage
The next stage is basically to check the followers of the person whom you are following. By checking the list of other followers, you can follow them if they are known to you, or are tweeting about things which you have interest in.
Be Good
There are some people who make ill use of their twitter accounts and send links to their blogs, services and products to other users. Not many people will appreciate this and if you are one among these spammers, then you will probably lose some of the good followers that you had managed to gather in the beginning. Therefore try to be well behaved and enjoy your networking on twitter.
