Free or paid web hosting?

There are many types of web hosting which exist in the Internet today, but there are two main choices which are often being discussed today, which is the Free vs Paid web hosting. Free hosting does exist in this industry and in fact a lot of people are taking advantage of it because it is totally free!
However, there are certainly some key factors which we need to consider before getting ourselves into either of them.
Web Presence
Your web host provider will use your site to place their advertising banners and pop-up windows. You do not have any control over these as you get this free web space service in exchange of getting these banners advertised on your website. If your website is for personnel use, then it should be fine ; however if it is for business used, then it is not feasible for it will definitely affect your online sales with these banners and advertisement all over your site.
Hosting Resources and Features
The amount of space allocated by the free hosting plan will be very much different than the paid hosting plan. Therefore if you are having a website for business or commercial use, then a paid hosting is definitely preferred for you will surely require ample space to get up to par with your competitors.
Most of the paid hosting providers have their own dedicated professional support team who has been well-trained on technical support by providing fast and effective workarounds. On the other hand, this service and support is lacking from the free hosting plan.
A paid web hosting plan will be able to support the high data transfer speed which carries a lot of graphic, images, video and icon with textual components as well as a wide range of bandwidth for their users. However, a free web hosting provider will only be offering a minimum amount of features such as little data transfer speed and just enough bandwidth to their subscribers. Furthermore, no additional data transfer speed will be entertained in the case of a free hosting plan. On the other hand, a paid web hosting will allow you to have access to powerful databases and programming languages, as well as multiple email accounts and multiple free domain names as per their needs.
Conclusion
Many free web hosting place restrictions on the file types and the size of the hosted files which their web users can use. This lack of flexibility is one of its short-comings which draw people away from continue to stay with free hosting plan despite it being free of charge after some years.
