We’ve been with Lunarpages for several years. They have been somewhat unresponsive, but you get what you pay for. We just purchased a new computer … and wanted their help migrating e-mail accounts and stored info from the old to the new. The Lunarpages’ tech support response: “I don’t know anything about that, but have a nice weekend.” I’m in my second week of trying to get their help! They don’t have a toll free phone number & are very slow responding to an e-mail. I’m looking around …

I have been raving about how great LP is to many and have referred several people here, but the last month or so things are about to the point where I am going to look elsewhere for hosting services yet again.
The things that bother me the most:
1. Email and/or web services going down and the Network Status still being reported as “ok” on the Login Page . Today, I couldn’t send or receive email for close to an hour and it happened to be when I was waiting for a very important email to arrive, yet the Network Status page showed “ok” the whole time.
2. Emailing support and getting a canned response that has little to do with my original problem. This happens way too often the last few months. One specific situation happened to me yesterday. I sent in a message regarding an email I had received back about a message I had sent not going through. The response I got was to use my ISP’s SMTP server. What? I send/receive email using my PocketPC frequently and do not have any other SMTP server besides the one I’m paying LP for. When I replied with that information I never heard anything back (it’s been over a day now) and the message is totally deleted when I login to the new help desk. Nice.
3. Threads that are the least bit critical being locked and/or deleted and that practice being defended as “well the problem was fixed so it deserved to be locked/deleted.” If it’s fixed, then posts will stop and if it isn’t then leave it unlocked so more people can find a potential solution.
4. Services like Spam Assassin going down and taking hours/days for anyone to notice even once I have reported it to Support. It shouldn’t always take a user reporting a problem for it to be fixed and once a user does report something it should be fixed more quickly than a day later.
That’s about it. I hope I can continue hosting at LP because it is a monstrous pain to move things, but I need to make a decision before my site’s get busy in a few months so if things don’t improve soon I’ll be taking my business elsewhere.

Customer service is terrible with lunar pages. I’ve been waiting 4 days without any response through their support ticket system. I called them and they said it would be dealt with within 24hours, still waiting for a response.
I’m too afraid to append to the ticket because it states it will be pushed back in the queue further delaying a response.
They are unprofessional when I call and they have absolutely no respect for small sites and small business from what I can see.

We purchased two years of service from this company; however, they failed to provide us with the username and password that would allow us to access the account. After 11 months of chasing them someone from their billing department FINALLY sent us the access information.
When we asked that they provide us the 24 months of service we paid for, they refused and claimed that their negligence was somehow our fault.
I wouldn’t trust these people to host a Tupperware party.
